Responsible Lobbying & Advocacy Policy
Purpose
Fearne & Rosie is committed to conducting all lobbying, advocacy and external engagement activities responsibly, ethically and transparently. As a purpose-led business, we will only engage in lobbying activities that contribute positively to society, public health, sustainability and the environment, and that align with our company values and B Corp commitments.
Our Approach to Responsible Lobbying
Positive Social & Environmental Impact
Fearne & Rosie will only support, advocate for or lobby on policies, legislation or industry initiatives that we believe contribute to a positive impact on society and/or the environment. This may include areas such as public health, responsible business practices, sustainability, packaging reduction, ethical sourcing and climate-conscious operations.
We will not knowingly support lobbying efforts that undermine environmental protection, social equity, public wellbeing or responsible business standards.
Evidence-Based Advocacy
Where Fearne & Rosie participates in lobbying or advocacy activity, our positions will be informed by reliable evidence, scientific research, industry best practice and factual information wherever possible. We are committed to engaging honestly and constructively with policymakers, trade bodies and stakeholders.
Political Contributions
Fearne & Rosie does not make financial contributions to political parties, political candidates or individual politicians. Any in-kind support, sponsorship or participation in policy-related events must be transparent, lawful, aligned with this policy and approved by senior leadership.
Anti-Corruption & Bribery
Fearne & Rosie maintains a zero-tolerance approach to bribery, corruption and unethical influence. All employees, contractors and representatives acting on behalf of the company are expected to comply with applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and to conduct all interactions with integrity, honesty and transparency.
No employee or representative may offer, request or accept payments, gifts or incentives intended to improperly influence decision-making.
Engagement with Industry & Intermediary Organisations
Fearne & Rosie may work with trade associations, industry groups, consultants or intermediary organisations to support responsible business objectives. Before joining or supporting such organisations, we will seek to ensure that their lobbying activities and public positions are broadly aligned with our company values and this policy. Where practical, we will review memberships and partnerships periodically and reserve the right to withdraw support from organisations whose lobbying activities materially conflict with our commitments to social and environmental responsibility.
Governance, Control & Risk Management
Accountability & Oversight
Responsibility for enforcing and overseeing this policy sits with the Fearne & Rosie Leadership Team, including executive leadership responsible for legal, compliance and sustainability matters. The Leadership Team is accountable for ensuring lobbying and advocacy activities remain aligned with this policy and the company’s ethical standards.
Embedding the Policy in Practice
Fearne & Rosie embeds this policy through leadership oversight, employee awareness and alignment with company values, supplier standards and B Corp commitments. Any employee or representative involved in external engagement, policy discussions, trade associations or advocacy activity is expected to act consistently with this policy.
Relevant policies, including anti-bribery, whistleblowing, code of conduct and grievance procedures, support implementation of this framework.
Risk Identification & Management
The company will seek to identify, assess and manage risks relating to non-compliance, unethical conduct or conflicts of interest associated with lobbying and advocacy activities. This includes reviewing relationships with intermediary organisations, monitoring relevant legislative developments and ensuring appropriate approvals are in place for external engagement activities.
Potential breaches or concerns will be investigated appropriately and corrective action taken where necessary.
Monitoring & Compliance Evaluation
Fearne & Rosie will periodically review its lobbying-related activities, partnerships and governance practices to assess compliance with this policy and associated controls. The Leadership Team will formally review and approve this policy annually, or more frequently where required due to regulatory changes, evolving best practice or updates to B Corp standards.
Raising Concerns & Grievances
Employees, suppliers, partners and external stakeholders are encouraged to raise concerns regarding Fearne & Rosie’s business conduct, lobbying activities or potential breaches of this policy. Concerns may be raised confidentially through the company’s grievance or whistleblowing procedures.
All concerns will be treated seriously, reviewed fairly and handled appropriately without retaliation against individuals raising concerns in good faith.
